How to make your own perler bead pattern
The whole thing runs in your browser: no sign-up, nothing to install, and no watermark on what you export.
1. Pick a blank grid size
The canvas opens at 29×29 — exactly one standard pegboard. For bigger builds, choose a multi-board preset like 58×58, 87×58, or 58×87, or type an exact width and height.
2. Draw bead by bead
Tap or drag with the brush to place beads, clear mistakes with the eraser, and use the color picker to grab a color already on the grid. Undo steps back one action at a time, and Fit reframes a large canvas at a glance.
3. Check bead counts before you build
The panel under the canvas shows how many beads each color needs, how many colors the design uses, and how many pegboards it covers — so you can check your stash before you start.
4. Export a printable chart
Download a PNG to share, or a printable PDF chart with color codes that you can keep beside the pegboard while you place beads.
What to design on a blank bead grid
A blank grid is the faster start whenever the idea isn't a photo. These are the designs people draw here most often.
Names and letters
Spell names, initials, or short words in beads, and plan the letter spacing on the grid before you place anything.
Geometric and repeating patterns
Checkerboards, stripes, chevrons, and borders are quicker to draw square by square than to convert from an image.
8-bit sprites and game icons
Classic pixel sprites are already grid-shaped, and 29×29 fits most of them on a single board.
Coasters and keychains
Small pieces that fit one pegboard, sized correctly from the start so nothing gets cropped.
Multi-board wall art

A standard square pegboard is 29×29 pegs, which is the default canvas here. The multi-board presets — 58×58, 87×58, and 58×87 — line up whole boards, so a large design splits cleanly when you build it.
Is this perler bead designer free?
Yes. Drawing, resizing, bead counts, and PNG or PDF export are all free, with no account and nothing to install — everything runs in your browser.
Can I design perler bead patterns on my phone?

How do I know how many beads I need?

Which bead colors can I use?
The palette holds 290 standard midi (5mm) bead colors, each with its color code, and you can search it by code or name. You can also add a custom color, and the closest palette code is shown alongside it.
Does the editor save my work?
Autosave keeps the current pattern in your browser, so you can close the tab and come back to the same grid. Export a PNG or PDF when you want a copy to keep or share.
