Where to send a copyright report

Send your report to hi@perlerbeadpatterns.org with the subject line ‘Copyright notice’. You must be the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.

Perler Bead Patterns is an independent site. We are not affiliated with Perler, Hama, or the owners of characters and brands shown in patterns. Those owners retain their rights; making a pattern available here does not grant a license to their characters or artwork.

What to include in your notice

For a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), include all of the following:

1. Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name can serve as an electronic signature.

2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. A link to the original work can help us identify it. If your notice covers several works on this site, you may provide a representative list.

3. The exact URL of each page or file on this site that you want us to review, plus enough detail to identify the material on that page. A link to our homepage alone is usually not enough.

4. Your name and contact details, including a mailing address, telephone number, and email address.

5. This statement: ‘I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material described in this notice is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.’

6. This statement: ‘The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.’

How we handle reports

We review copyright reports and may ask for missing details. When a notice meets the applicable requirements, we will act promptly to remove or disable access to the material. Where appropriate and possible, we will notify the person who supplied it.

We may also remove material after reviewing a copyright concern that is not a formal DMCA notice. A removal does not by itself decide who owns the copyright or whether infringement occurred.

If material was removed by mistake

If you supplied material that we removed in response to a DMCA notice, and you believe it was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to hi@perlerbeadpatterns.org with the subject line ‘DMCA counter-notice’.

Include your physical or electronic signature; identify the removed material and the URL where it appeared before removal; and provide your name, mailing address, and telephone number. Include an email address so we can reply.

Include this statement: ‘I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.’

You must also state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found. State that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or their agent.

We may forward a valid counter-notice, including your contact details, to the person who submitted the original notice. Under the DMCA process, material may be restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt of a valid counter-notice, unless we receive notice that the claimant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement. Material may remain unavailable for a separate legal or site-policy reason.

Repeated infringement and other questions

We do not knowingly keep repeatedly infringing material available. Where applicable, we may stop accepting contributions from a repeat infringer or terminate their access to contribution features.

For a missing attribution, a pattern correction, or another question that does not require a formal copyright notice, you can also write to hi@perlerbeadpatterns.org. Include the page URL and tell us what needs attention.
